Although Torremolinos is not known for its food and fine dining, there are plenty of good restaurants around the resort. The tourist trade is well-catered for in Torremolinos, featuring a large selection of restaurants and bars to suit all palates and tastes.

With an enviable coastal location, it will come as no surprise that most restaurants in Torremolinos serves a range of seafood dishes, often made with freshly caught fish, crabs and prawns. A number of notable seafood restaurants can be found around the La Carihuela district, a popular spot for fishing and full of typical Andalusian character, away from the large hotel complexes.




The nearby Puerto Banús harbour area is known for its seafood restaurants, which offer stunning views across the harbour and coastline. Also, the sea-front promenade in the Carihuela area of Torremolinos is lined with fresh-fish restaurants.

A number of excellent Tapas bars and restaurants can be found throughout Torremolinos, serving tasty nibble-sized snacks which are designed to accompany wine or drinks. Popular at lunchtimes and often free, Tapas can include stuffed olives, strong cheeses, potato chips, fish-based snacks, prawns in chilli sauce, anchovies and cold meats. A larger version of Tapas is available at a number of Spanish restaurants in Torremolinos and is known as 'recion', being more of a meal than a snack. Tapas bars and restaurants in Torremolinos are particularly plentiful in the heart of the Old Town area, around the Calle Quintana Rosado.

Menus in Torremolinos generally feature English speaking staff and offer menus in a range of languages. Three-course meals are often surprisingly inexpensive and many of the best restaurants and concentrated around the town centre and close to the beaches. There are a good selection of beachfront cafés and eateries in Torremolinos and these are known locally as 'chiringuitos', selling a range of snacks and refreshments.

Some of the main restaurants in Torremolinos can be found along the Calle Carmen, Calle Europa, the Calle Hoyo and the Calle San Miguel streets, and also close to the Playa del Bajondillo and Playa Miguel areas.

Local specialities in Torremolinos include paella, tortilla (omelettes), gazpacho (cold, tomato-based soup), 'fritura malaguena' (fried fish), kebabs (pinchos morunos) and a variety of stews. Those looking for more traditional English-style restaurants will not be disappointed, with fish and chips, steaks, pasta dishes and salads being readily available. A number of fast-food restaurants and also concentrated in the main Torremolinos tourist hotspots, for those looking for a quick burger or pizza.

Torremolinos hotels often feature excellent restaurants, serving a diverse range of food, ranging from steak and chips to hot Indian curries, Chinese dishes to more typically Mediterranean cuisine.
