View over the seaBeing a busy tourist resort close to Malaga, the Torremolinos area offers superb shopping facilities, including many local speciality stores and large shopping centres, both in Torremolinos and nearby. The main shopping district in Torremolinos is centred around the pedestrianised street of Calle San Miguel, which is lined by speciality stores, coffee shops and restaurants.

For more traditional shopping in Torremolinos, head to the bustling market in the El Calvario, which takes place of Thursday mornings and offers plenty of gift ideas, together with local produce and general market bric-a-brac. A number of interesting back streets and shops can also be found nearby in this part of Torremolinos.


Two of the largest and most popular shopping centres in the Torremolinos area, the Centro Comercial Malaga Plaza and Centro Comercial Rosaleda can be found in nearby Malaga. Also worth a visit, Cortefiel is located along Torremolinos' Avenida Palma de Mallorca and is one of the area's most notable department stores.

Opening Hours

The shopping day in Torremolinos starts at around 09:30 to 10:00, with many shops closing during the traditional Spanish siesta period in the afternoon, when the day is at its hottest.

Shops in Torremolinos generally reopen at anytime between 16:00 to 17:00 and continue trading until 20:00 or even later, remaining busy until they close. Most shops open Monday to Saturday, with reduced hours on Saturday, although a number of shops are now beginning to open on Sundays.
