Nearby, the inviting attractions of both neighbouring Malaga and Marbella often entice visitors from Torremolinos. A slightly longer drive but still within easy reach of Torremolinos are the attractions of both Seville and Granada, two of the most famous cities in Spain.

Marbella is located 47 km / 29 miles west of Torremolinos and can be reached in just 30 minutes. With a population of around 121,000 and many alluring attractions, Marbella is an exciting city, often attracting visitors from Torremolinos. Seville

Known locally as Sevilla, Seville is now Spain's fourth largest city and has long been the capital of the Andalusia area, being within driving distance of Torremolinos. Situated approximately 225 km / 140 miles northwest of Torremolinos, Seville has a population of around 720,000, with much of the city being pedestrianised and many top attractions standing close to each other. Granada

The busy city of Granada lies to the northeast of Torremolinos and is easy to reach by car. Located approximately 146 km / 91 miles from Torremolinos - a journey of around one and a half hours, Granada has a population of around 240,000 and many outstanding attractions, which prove a popular alternative to the beaches and coastlines of Torremolinos. Much of the city is dominated by the 13th-century fortress of Alhambra, which overlooks central Granada. A significant university city, Granada University (Universidad de Granada) is a vast complex with around 60,000 students.
